A novel liquid phase 3-D printing method using low melting metal alloy ink

(Nanowerk News) Three dimensional metal printing technology is an expanding area that’s tremendous potential uses in areas including supporting structures, practical electronic equipment to medical devices. Standard 3D metal printing is normally limited to metals with a high melting point, and the procedure is quite time consuming.
Now scientists at the Beijing Key Laboratory of CryoBiomedical Engineering, part of the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, have developed a fresh conceptual 3D printing system with “ink” consisting of a metal alloy that’s a melting point somewhat above room temperature
