They are fast catching on as a workable, affordable and customizable replacement for their counterparts that are traditionally manufactured while 3D printed implants and medical devices are fairly new. At this point the Usa and most of Europe have previously approved use and the development of most 3D printed implants; nonetheless, there continue to be huge population centers who’ve not caught up. But a major hurdle that was blocking their use in Asia was merely cleared when the China State Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) officially approved the production and use of 3D printed medical implants, particularly those fabricated with metal 3D printing technologies.
