Will HP Acquire 3D Printing Stocks Like DDD or Proto Labs?

Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ) announced a couple weeks past that it will split into two separate companies — a consumer-centered HP Inc. that will produce PCs and printers, and a business services outfit Hewlett-Packard Enterprises.

The thought of dividing a slowing computer business from the enterprise arm of Hewlett-Packard Company has always been talked about since we entered a “post-PC” age. When cellular telephone was effectively given up on by HP by mothballing its webOSefforts and hunkered down to get a multiyear restructuring under CEO Meg Whitman, Hewlett-Packard investors had good motive to start pounding the table for change in any type — including a spinoff.
