Arts and crafts honcho Martha Stewart is taking her fire for the “do it yourself” craze to another measurement — the third dimension.
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSO) announced it has teamed up with 3D printing company MakerBot, a department of Stratasys (SSYS) to distribute 3D print stuff in addition to develop 3D printable designs, as the arts and crafts movement goes high tech.
“We’re thrilled to work with MakerBot to bring our touch colour palette and layouts to the entire world of 3D print,” said Martha Stewart, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of MSLO in a press release. “3D print allows for cost effective product design without endangering artisanal nature. With this particular venture, we’re in a position to leverage our expertise and expand our company to the exciting new 3D printing group.”
